Clear but COLD Weekend

We were supposed to get a big cold and rainy storm (typical L.A to predict that but not get it) so Ryan and I moved our mattress to the living room to sleep to the sound of rain Friday night.  We thought we would be house bound most of the weekend so we thought we could have fun and hang out as a family and watch cartoons, read books, etc.  Which we did...
Yes, Amelia is in her underwear again!!  She seems to forget that part after she goes to the bathroom.

Well, we woke up Saturday morning to blue skies and crisp air!
Do you see a single cloud in the sky?!?!

These clouds were east of us but nothing above our house!

So we headed outside for a walk, some basketball and front yard fun!

EVERY time we're outside our neighbour Dee heads out for a walk and the kids yell, "HI DEE"!  She loves it and stops by to say hi.

The kids usually end up in the car and Miss Mabel was on her float waving hello to the cars that passed.  Only one car waved back :(

We headed back inside for a ton of fun on our living room bed :)

I had to take a picture of Mabel in this bib because it was a belated gift from my high school.  I got one each time my kids were born and I thought it was sweet.

Sunday consisted of Mabel's 1st morning donut run for breakfast, baseball practice for Jbird while mommy went to a baby shower.  I left the girls in a pac n play on the sideline and daddy pitching balls to jbird.  We go to the grocery store on Sunday so we're fully stocked the for the week...
Nothing better than starting the week full of "ammo"!!!  Yup, you see that correctly...there are 5 gallons of milk.

Sorry this post is so long but it's not about you, it's about my kids reading this one day and remembering these great memories.  So here's a quick one...
As Amelia, Mabel and I were leaving Vons with mommy pushing one cart with Mabel in it and pulling the kids cart behind me (Amelia couldn't push it because she wanted to eat a banana instead) we ran into Bethany and Annie (they live next door in case you don't know who they are) and Annie wanted to come with me and Amelia wanted to go with Bethany so we switched kids.  Amelia headed back into the store and Annie came home with me and Mabel and played with Mabel while I unloaded the groceries.  Bethany called when they got home and said that Amelia was going to help her cook dinner.  She didn't come home for almost an hour.  Have I mentioned that we love our neighbors.  Thank you George family for being a big brother, big sister, 2nd mom and dad and a second place to call home.  We love you.

Fun Friday

I not only love Fridays because they're Fun Fridays but because we can hang in our PJ's just a little bit longer.  The kids love to play in the beds together so all 3 hung out for awhile in Amelia's bed.  They had a brief visitor at their window before he went school.

We then met up with Nicole, Simone and Blaise for a long walk in Playa Vista because all the parks were closed due to the rain.  Hello people, it hadn't even started to rain.  Oh well, the kids had fun finding lots of bugs including lady bugs, snails, stink bugs, potato bugs, pincher bugs and lots of ants.  Thank you Blaise for picking up most of them so everyone could get a closer look.  It started to drizzle right when we were on our way to the Playa Vista library.  The kids had fun "reading", stacking blocks, doing puzzles, etc. Mabel stayed in the reading room and seemed interested for a little while but once she figured out there was more to this place than one room, she had fun trying to run ALL over the library.

Here is Jbird at the top of a huge hill I told him NOT to climb.  Thanks for listening!  I'm just glad he finally figured out how to get down because it was getting close to a mommy rescue.

Someone else loves Jack George!

He sat down next to her and she put her head on his shoulder. I ran to my camera....

...and she loves her Daddy A LOT!  Another daddy's girl on our hands :)  I'll take it.  Nothing sweeter than the girls with their dad!

Picture Night

TWINS ~ picture night.  He was a little shy but I think his picture will turn out well.  He is the youngest by 6 months and you can tell in the blurry group shot.  His new buddy Matthew is next to him and he's the little guy with Jbird in the seats.  As we were leaving Jeremy told me he loved baseball.  Hope he still loves it after his 1st season.

Sweet Moments

I mean really sweet moments!

They love to watch airplanes on the computer and I caught them post bath watching videos!

Mabel loves to take Ryan's hat off his head and put it on.  Pretty cute!

So Jeremy and Amelia have been inseparable lately.  One does not pee without the other (or #2), they scoot their chairs closer together when they're eating, Jeremy has asked Amelia the past 2 mornings if he can sit next to her on the couch while they watch their morning show and Jeremy even wanted to nap with Amelia today at Oma and Opa's!  So tonight, Ryan came and got me off the couch (how dare he) to take a look in their room.  And behold what we found...

Don't get me wrong, they have their battles but we love to watch these two get closer and closer.  Night night angels.

Maybe this will work better....

Here is the new picture I sent to Mabel's agency since I need to update it often as she is changing so fast.  Since so many of you have been asking, still no auditions for our Mabel but maybe this will do it.

You'll be there someday

After spending most of the day with his best buddy Jack George, Jeremy was invited to stay longer and hang out with the big boys Jack invited over for pizza.  Well, the boys didn't seem to care that it was raining and although it broke my heart to see Jeremy not out in the street, I know his day will come soon enough and he will be one of the big boys.  He's still there now (it's 20 minutes past his bedtime) and I called to check on him and Bethany said he's having a blast playing hide n seek with the big kids.  So cute and makes us happy to know that Jbird has a big brother :)

Laundry Time

The kids love to sort the clean laundry.  I do laundry one day a week so their clothes turn into a pile on the couch or bed.  It was my idea one day to keep them busy and it turned into a great way for them to help with household chores.  I LOVE listening to them discuss where the clothes go.  You might need to turn it up to hear them better.  One basket is for Jeremy and one is for the girls.  I like at the end when Jeremy checks the little pair of pink underwear to see if it's his or hers :)

Crazy hair day at school

Need I say more?

Hair gel for Jeremy and pipe cleaners for Amelia!  I know it doesn't look like Amelia was happy but she was.  She still had them in when I picked her up from school

Happy Valentine's Day

I love Valentine's Day!  Even though I tell the kids (and Ryan) that I love them every day, it's fun to say it with treats, cards and all day without thinking about it.

Amelia had her Emerson class today so we brought cards to hand out and made a card there that she wanted to give to her daddy.  Shocker.  Here she is waiting with William Pickett to get their cards from their classmates.

The girls and me during class!

Amelia's card bag, the cards Ryan and I got the kids (they play music when they open it), the pink plate is Jeremy's craft from school today, the red heart is the card Amelia made for daddy and the brown box is the package from Grandmommy!
Thank you daddy for bringing mommy an iced coffee and chocolate this morning.

The lady bug chocolate daddy got for the kids!

Thank you Grandmommy for our new super cool shirts and the chocolate for mommy and daddy!  Yummo!
And the day concluded, like always, with a bath!  Our two bath lovers...

1st Little League Practice- Twins

1st set of skill lessons from his coach

Jeremy had his first little league practice today with the Twins and even though mommy and Mabel were under the weather, we went as a family to support our little Jbird!  He is the YOUNGEST by a few months.  The cut off is April 30 so he's the only 4 year old, there are a couple of 5 1/2 year olds and then 6 and 7 year olds.  It's amazing watching the difference in skill level between J and 7 year olds.  He has a really good coach (so we've heard) and we think he will learn a lot from not only the coach but watching the older players.  That's part of the reason we signed him up for Little League as compared to tball so he could play without a tee and with older boys.
Jbird in the outfield during the mini game.  He cut off a ball and threw it to the 2nd baseman!

Waiting in the dugout for his turn at bat

Jbird at bat.  He actually hit the ball towards 3rd base but it fouled out.

The coaches pitch to the kids and can be in the outfield during the game so we think that will really help Jeremy learn the game.

Next up, oil up his glove so he can catch the balls easier.  Nothing like a little oil and baking a glove in the oven.

The glove is ready to go and Jeremy's uniform is ALMOST complete.  He will get his cap on picture day before his first game.

Conversation of the year!!!

Yesterday, while the girls napped, Jbird and I watched the tree trimmers cut down one tree and trim another.  They were using chain saws, rope to pull themselves up into the tree and then the machine of all machines ATE the tree and spit it into a big truck.  Jeremy told me he wanted "to do that when he gets older".  I then asked, "you don't want to do what daddy does" and he answered, "no that's boring"!  So today I was telling Auntie Nicole about this conversation and I told Jeremy to tell her why he didn't want to do what daddy did and he then said, "daddy only packs up boxes all day".  If he only knew.....

Fun Friday with Nicole was coffee, a grassy quad, a short walk that ended on a basketball court with a broken water fountain which equals a lot of fun and super wet kids.  They even lured Mabel to stand right where the water fountain sprayed so she was wet too.
Hanging in the shade to stay cool!

Friends forever!

Drying out!

Boys will get new baseball pants and bats for Little League and girls will let their mommy put a princess dress on them.
