Easter 2013

We started Easter weekend with traditional egg dying fun.  It's all about 30 minutes of set up for 30 seconds of fun.  This year lasted a little longer than that and I think it's because I bought the Glitter kit for the girls and Tie Dye for Jeremy. He had to use a small dropper to add ALL the colors, then pat with cloth and repeat over and over.  They had fun and wanted to do more but I thought we should save those eggs since none of them actually eat the hard boiled eggs. :)

The kids put their easter baskets in a different spot every year and this year they decided on the back patio table.  It was super cute to see them peering out the window at the full baskets this morning.
Amelia's basket is the one in the middle and yes, that's a broom.  She got her first gardening set and because cleaning up is her favorite part, she needed a broom.

We hosted our 3rd annual Easter egg hunt and brunch.  We had 16 (supposed to be 18 but the Byrne kids got sick) kids, a lot of adults and even more yummy food!

Jeremy and his best buddy Matthew!

The aftermath!

Arts and crafts in the driveway

Most of our guests left about 2pm but Nicole, Paul, Beth and Guy (and the George's of course) set up camp in the front yard and we line danced, played guitar (well, Paul did most of it with a little help from Jack George), fed the kids lunch, watched the kids play kick ball and "re-do" egg hunts all afternoon.  We decided to order Thai food for dinner about 4:30 and we renamed our Easter Brunch to Easter Brunner (Breakfast, lunch and dinner)!!!

Everyone packed up and headed home at 6:30.  It was an amazing day!

As I was tucking Jeremy into bed tonight, he said, "I wish every day was Easter!"  I bet you do buddy. Love you kiddos!!!

Latest happenings

We went to the Science Center while the other Meinhardts were here and Endeavor was a hit!  It is truly amazing!

I, mommy, turned 35 and had a GREAT weekend.  Some dinners out, some time to myself, some family time....just what I wanted!
First up...Marymount for the annual Easter Egg hunt.  They decorate cookies, dye eggs, jump in bounce houses, pet animals in the petting zoo, walk through the hallways that mommy did a long time ago :) and hunt for eggs.  They love it.  So does mommy.
A picture of the kids on Cantwell steps!  The steps I stood on when I graduated from Marymount.  Hopefully the girls will be there one day :)

Then we went to dinner with Opa, Uncle Christian, Aunt Windy and Kira.  Oma was in Salt Lake with the other birthday girl, Auntie Jacqui.
Cute story behind the candle....they bought a "3" and a "5" but the girls lost the candle somewhere between home and the restaurant.  Well, the dry cleaner found it in Mabel's dress pocket.  I think she was just trying to keep it safe.

Next up, my date with Amelia.  We went out to lunch and then headed to UCLA for a gymnastics meet.  This little girl is SO happy when she's alone with me.

She learned how to tip at the restaurant!

Pure joy!
She started back up with gymnastics herself and it looks like she'll be invited up to "team training."  Her current coach thinks there is potential so after her current session is up, she will be evaluated.  Yikes.  She lives for it so I'm excited for her.

Jbird being silly for a school project.  He had to take a picture for the "Y" page in his class alphabet book so we chose Yogurt tubes.

Other than that.....not much going on.  I'm down to one class after my physiology final next week and then summer is near and I will get a break from school :)  Yeah me.  Easter, birthdays and trips are coming our way!!!!!

Cuddles

Some mornings they cuddle and some mornings they want nothing to do with each other.  I figured I should capture the cuddly mornings because those are the sweet times that make the chaos of 3 worth it.

Hastings Park

This park is Amelia's favorite park by FAR! She always wants to go here because this is where her and Adia go together.  Not the greatest picture but this is a typical day.  Rice cakes and parks...that's how we roll :)  Love you girlies!

The Chicago Meinhardts are back!!!!!

They haven't been here since Mabel was about 6 weeks old.  We welcomed them back with open arms!!!  We've seen them in Missouri and Chicago, but not here.  The weather treated them well the first few days but it was cloudy today and it's supposed to rain Friday so we shall see.
I had to get studying in for my 2 midterms so Ryan was Mr. Mom.  They hit the beach, the Santa Monica pier and Legoland!

Off to the Science Center tomorrow and then 2 days left :(  It's going too fast!

Guitar Lessons & Baseball

Jbird started guitar lessons and his 3rd baseball season a couple weeks ago and he is busy but having fun.  He loves to practice his guitar and I've even been awoken at 6:20am by the sound of a guitar.

Jeremy is on the Red Sox this season and it's Farm League.  That means the players actually pitch to each other.  They've played 2 games and they won 2-1 and tied 6-6.  Let the games begin....
