Pools, gardens and sleepovers!!!

The last couple days have been busy but I guess they always are and how can they not be when we have 8 kids between the 3 of us :)

We hit the pool yesterday and the kids had a blast.  Well, until Jett swallowed a bunch of water and threw up in the pool.  The lifeguards blew their whistles and the pool had to be emptied until they cleaned it.  Not embarrassing at all.

Me and the kids had a slumber party at the Stockham's house.  I mean EVERYONE!  Amelia slept with Georgia, Jbird with Cece and Teddy, Mabel on her own in the guest room and mommy and Auntie Courtney (Dave was out of town).  She kicks a lot.  All was good until Cece creeped bedside and scared me and then crawled into bed with us.  Huh?  This momma doesn't do well with that but I fell back asleep until Jbird called at 5:45 "where is cece?" He loves her.  I slept with him on the floor and loved every minute of it.  He cuddled with me and put his arm over me.  Ugh, loved it.

Today we took the kids to Red Butte Gardens and walked all over the place to see flowers, waterfalls, fountains, play areas, etc.  I think they had fun.  We walked a lot but these two were behind most of the way.  Remember, slow and steady wins the race!

 The gang

We came home and spent the afternoon with slip n slides, pools and popsicles.  Oh yeah, I chased the kids around with a bazooka water gun!

Cornered with the water gun!

More victims of the water gun!  Amelia was not happy!

Ice Cream truck delivery :)  Can you deal with the size of this popsicle?

Vaseline

The kids watched their first thunderstorm of the summer!  Mommy was caught in it at the grocery store.

Courtney is out of town so Dave brought the kids over for dinner and a movie.  All the cousins loved being on Jacqui's bed together.

Today we took the kids to This is the Place, a museum-like place of the first settlers to Salt Lake.  I'm telling ya, for those of you who know that I love Little House on the Prairie, I could live in this time.  Minus the heat...it would have to be in Cali :)  Here are the kids waiting for the "train" to take us around.
They had the wood cabins they lived in, the schoolhouse that they used and all the stores were there that they had.  People volunteer as the settlers (in full dress) and you can walk through their houses and they ask you to help.  We washed some clothes REALLY old school style, the teacher taught the kids to write on a slate and they even had the witch doctor arrested in the town square.  Hot but fun.

They had horses to ride, the biggest petting zoo I've ever seen (the goat tried to eat the food out of our stroller) and a real train that went around a lake.

I might not have mentioned that after that cute cousin photo on the bed, the adults went upstairs to eat and Mabel got into the tub of Vaseline.  In her HAIR!  Her hair was so gross all day.  One of Jacqui's neighbors told us to use beer to get it out.

Before

And....it didn't really work.  Her hair is still sticky and doesn't absorb water but it's a little better.  She's drunk and in bed so I guess it kind of helped out :)

Salt Lake fun!!!!

We've been here just over 24 hours and we've already had lots of fun, an injury, water fun and cousin time.
Uncle Nick had a game last night so we got a sitter for the girls and we took the boys!

Uncle Nick took the kids down onto the field after the game and into the locker room.  They watched Nick get treatment on his ankle and Jeremy was telling me all about this guy getting stitches! A little boy's dream.

Jeremy got a specially made jersey with "uncle" on it and Jett's says "dad"!  Too cute!!!!

Mabel loves Marley!!!!  It's like a book title; "Mabel and Marley"! Notice the bruise on Mabel's cheek....1st injury of the trip!!!

The Final Space Shuttle Launch

Thought the kids should see history in the making and watch the final space shuttle launch....they LOVED it!!!!
So did mommy :)

I'm off to Salt Lake in the morning with the kids so I am sure I will update from there with fun stuff or when I get back on the 18th!!!!

Well Visits

All 3 kids had their "well visits" today and all was good.  Well, minus that Mabel fell face first off a chair right in front of the dr.  It's hard to watch the other ones when I am helping the dr. look into ears, etc. She recovered and then the dr watched me reward shots with candy.  Yup, right there in the room :)  You do what you gotta do right?
The kids at the Howard Hughes Center the other night when I motivated and took them all out to dinner when Ryan was out of town.

Here are their stats:
Jeremy weighed in at 50 lbs (I can't believe I have a kid who weighs 50 lbs!!!!!).  He is 45 inches tall which is on the taller side.  He is 75% for both. He passed vision and hearing tests with flying colors and after he finished the nurse said "I wish every kid would listen, follow directions and respond like he did"!  Good job J!

Amelia weighed in at 28 lbs (15%) and is 36 inches tall (25%)!  She had one shot and got a finger prick for a blood test.  All looks good.  She's come a long way at the dr.  She will actually let them look in her ears, mouth, etc and she tries to talk with them.  She used to start crying the second the dr came in the room.

Mabel weighed in 27 lbs and is 33 inches tall.  Her weight % is down from 95% to 90%.  If you could see her chart her line plateaued between her last appt and now.  She is also on the taller end and her height is 75%.  In typical Mabel fashion, she greeted the dr and nurses (and everyone in the waiting room) with waves and high fives and only cried for a second when she got a shot.  I checked Jeremy's baby book and although Mabel weighed more than him up until now, she doesn't anymore.  He weighed 29 lbs but they are the same % now.

What does this mean....Jeremy and Mabel are made of my stock and Amelia is a "tiny Meiny" like her cousins Beck and Nellie (and her dad and uncle)!

July 4, 2011

4th of July festivities started in the Palisades at the parade which has the best start...the sky divers!!!!!

Some of us hated the parade so much that she made daddy take her back to Oma and Opa's before the 1st float even came by.

Some should have been a part of it because they waved and clapped at every band, car, horse, float or person that went by.

The gang watching the parade!

Back to Oma and Opa's for some swimming, playing and eating!

Ryan took the girls home to go to bed and I stuck around longer to go to the fireworks!  But first Uncle Christian bought some "ghetto" fireworks!

There was a band that played before the show started and Jbird and Cece were super cute dancing!  They love America!!!
