Happy Father's Day

I love my dad! We went to The Proud Bird for brunch with my friend Emily, her mom Louise and dad Brian. It's near the LAX runway so I watched airplanes land the whole time we ate. We watched the US Open and my mom cooked a yummy dinner. Here are some pics from today.

Firestone Picnic

We went to where my mom and dad got married today and had a picnic. I ate A LOT, played in the grass, saw Alpaca and drove for a few hours to the vineyard and then to the ocean. It was nice weather at Firestone but it was cloudy and cold at the beach. I danced to a live band with my opa and even tasted some wine. The last time I was there, I was a little guy. 4 weeks old little. Now I am a big boy but next year, I will be even bigger and RUNNING all over the place! I bet my mom and dad can't wait!

First Swim Lesson

We went to our first swim class today with Louise and little Emily. It's for babies 6 months - 3 years so there was quite an age range! It went a lot better than I thought it would. He cried for the first 10 minutes but warmed up to it half way through the class. I told the teacher that we would probably do our own thing for a bit because he was the ONLY one not happy! I was trying to distract him as we went deeper so he would realize how much better it is when you're under the water instead of cold on top. We swam around in circles, played with his pacifier (good distraction), played with water noodles and he even let me put him on his back on the top of the water. I couldn't take any pictures while we were in the water but here are a couple!!!!

Memorial Day 2007

I've had a fun weekend with my mom and dad. We went on a hike, had lunch with my oma and opa, had a bbq at my friend Jack's house, went to the beach, costco, slept a lot and ate even more. Hope you all had a fun weekend. Here's my friend Jack and I in his red wagon. He's only 6 weeks younger than me so we're going to have a lot of fun as we get older.

13 Months Old

I just got back from a trip to Salt Lake City and I took my first steps. 3 of them in a row!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm getting so big! I got to hang out with my aunties and play with my cousins Georgia and Cece. I babble all the time and I always want to turn lights on and off all by myself. Well, either my mom or my dad hold me up to the light switch and then I do the rest myself. My mom didn't like it when my dad showed me that there is a light in the car that goes on and off....now I ask for it to go on and off while we drive.
I thought these pictures of me were cute because I love my giant monkey and I give him kisses and hugs all the time! Oh yeah, my new thing is closing the door so my mom and dad have to wait until I back away before they can open it. That might be my favorite game now :)

1st Hair Cut

My mom cut my hair today...well, trimmed it and I think I look older. She took some off the back (cut off my duck tail), trimmed around my ears and cleaned up the front. She made me really mad when she cut the back of my neck. Not a big cut but it hurt and I cried really hard. She had to hug me for a long time and then my dad took me out to swing in my tree swing. I think I forgave her about 10 minutes later. It was Mother's Day and I treated my mom really well. I got up extra early today so my dad could get the day started. We made mom pancakes and then went on a walk to get coffee. We watched airplanes land and then headed home. My uncle Jeremy came to visit me today and when I woke up from my nap, I went to see my Oma for Mother's Day. We only stayed for a couple hours and then when I got home, my dad pushed me in the swing for a LONG time. We finished off the day with a yummy sushi dinner and play time with my dad in my play room. I love my mom and dad!!!!

Happy 1st Birthday to me!!!!!

I am a year old now and loving life! I can crawl really fast, give kisses, hugs, wave hello, pet my doggies, play on my own and eat all kinds of food! I really love milk ( like my momma) and anything I can eat. I especially love tomatoes, watermelon, hot dogs and bananas. I yell "nana" at my mom when she's trying to cut the bananas as fast as she can so I can eat! She's the best. We just went down to San Diego to see my auntie Jess and uncle Jon. I LOVE their new house but I didn't like swimming. Maybe I will like it more when I am not so tired and feeling sick! I got a lot of really cool stuff for my birthday. A fire truck from oma and opa, a red wagon from grandmommy, clothes from my aunties, a sand box from Olivia and so much more. I didn't eat any of my birthday cake but I think that's because I had a big lunch. Anyway, I am going to visit my aunties in Salt Lake soon so I am sure I will have a lot to say after that trip!

Los Angeles Marathon XXII

It's done and I'm alive. Well, kind of. I ran my second marathon today and finished in 4 hours and 34 minutes. I ran the San Francisco Marathon in 2000 and finished in 4 hours and 20 minutes. I wanted to beat my first race time but that didn't happen :( It started off VERY crowded so we had to weave in and out of the slower runners. Jess started the race with me and we were trying to find the clearest path to any sort of clearance. That didn't happen until mile 11 or 12! Jess stopped at mile 4 and my dad jumped in and ran mile 4-7 with me. It was nice to have some company. My mom, Ryan and Jeremy met me at mile 4, attempted 9 (I got there before they could), mile 18 and the finish line! It was SO nice to see familiar faces and encouraging cheers! I was cruising until mile 18 and then hit a wall. Not just "a wall", the great wall that I truly thought I wouldn't be able to get over. I told Jess to never let me run another marathon again and to remind me of this feeling when I even think about it! I guess the shorter training period was taking its toll. Jess kept me going until I got a second wind at mile 22! I hit up every water station along the path and didn't stop running until mile 18~then walked the water stations until mile 24 when I cruised without stopping to the finish line! Jess ran 11 miles with me...she's crazy and was feeling the affect of NO training! The cool thing about Los Angeles...we passed Native Americans dancing in a circle, the Korean community playing music, South Americans performing with drums, rap, "I Love LA", beautiful homes in Hancock Park to lower income areas to the skyscrapers of downtown. It was great to look around and see what our melting pot city is ALL about. People from every walk of life living in one city! Besides the running, it was a great experience :) Seriously though, it was an amazing day! One last thing, if I ever bring up the idea of running another marathon....SAY NO! Well, at least until next year :) The reason this has not been posted was because I am waiting for photos but those may never come!

10 Months Old!

Wow, can't believe it's been 10 months already. Ryan and I feel like we were waiting for his arrival just yesterday. It's truly amazing how much you can love someone you've only known for 10 months. We're so lucky to have such a wonderful little man to wake us up every morning.

As for his "new things"....he is sleeping on his belly! The first couple nights he couldn't get back onto his back but he can now! Thank goodness because he woke up very angry that he was on his belly! He copies us when we say "uh oh" and he looks up into the sky when you ask where the moon is! He pulls himself up on his crib, yells, shakes things, hits things and most importantly, gives us kisses and hugs. We're having the time of our lives!

Swinging at Westchester Park

I had a fun day with my mom! My dad was in class all day so after a long walk with the doggies and a good nap, my mom and I went to the Westchester Park to eat lunch and enjoy the beautiful day! I watched a bunch of guys play basketball and I couldn't take my eyes off the basketball. I hope I am a good basketball player one day since my dad loves basketball so much. I ate fresh watermelon, cantaloupe, melon and avocados! Yum yum. My mom had sushi. One of my mom's friends Morgan, met us there and she hung out until she had to go to work. Once she left, my mom put me in the swing for the first time. I LOVED it! I would cry whenever she'd stop pushing me! I even cried when she took me out and headed for the stroller...I kept my eyes on that swing as long as I could. We walked home and I was ready for another nap and another meal! It was a good day!

Beach Trip in February

Yes, it's Sunday, February 18 and we went to the beach! It was such a nice day that we decided to get out of the house for all our family and friends that are stuck inside because of terribly cold weather. I have been to the beach before but this is the first time I've been old enough to enjoy it. I really liked watching the planes take off over our heads from LAX. I also liked walking in the sand, hanging out with my mom and dad and watching the waves. I didn't like the water hitting my feet because it was cold! I can't wait to go again...maybe next time I can eat the sand!

I'm 9 Months Old

I am 9 months old now and growing fast. I went to the doctor and I weigh 24 lbs and I am 29 inches long. I am a big boy! I still don't roll over on a regular basis and I am by no means, even close to walking but I am a happy boy! My second tooth is coming in right next to the first one so that should look cute once they're both in. I've now been to my first Super Bowl party and I've watched a lot of Kansas basketball games. Well, I don't watch them but my dad does. I still eat everything in sight and walk everyday with my mom, her friends and the doggies. I'm in the stroller of course! Then it's off to the gym where mom works out and I get to play with a lot of other kids. I especially like Ashlyn and Oliver. Oh yeah, my mom is still training for the LA Marathon and she runs all the time. She ran 16 miles this weekend and has 18 next weekend. I can't even think of taking a step... :) Okay, here is a picture of me today! Doesn't my tooth look cute? Until next time...
