39 Weeks and Nesting
So we're 39 weeks along and nesting like crazy people. We went to IKEA to buy a breakfast room table and spent all afternoon organizing and cleaning the house. Ryan had to put everything together with that little screw driver that IKEA puts in every box. His fingers were getting raw by the end of chair #1 so he decided to put on a glove that I use to run in when it's cold. Needless to say, he finished and it looks great! We're still waiting for Baby Meinhardt and only hope it's days away.

"The Salad" Failed
I am still pregnant...large and pretty uncomfortable. I have slowed down quite a bit in the past couple days so maybe that was what the salad was supposed to do. It clearly did not work but it was worth a shot. Just thought I would send an update in case you were wondering where the pictures of Baby Meinhardt were! Until then....

Inducing Labor
There is a salad at a restaurant called Ciaoti in Studio City, CA that apparently kicks women into labor. Is it true? Well, we decided to find out for ourselves! Our friend and fellow dog pack member Jamie could not make it due to jury duty so Nicole, little Simone and I decided to give it a go. Yes, we drove ALL the way to Studio City for a salad! As I ordered "the salad", the waiter said "surprise surprise"! It's not a usual thing for me to only eat a salad for lunch but if we were truly going to test this rumor...I had to eat a lot of it! I enjoyed it thoroughly but Nicole's pizza looked a lot more satisfying.
So, here I am enjoying a delicious salad in hopes that I will update this blog next as a mom. Better yet, Ryan will be updating it since I will be a busy bee come the arrival of Baby Meinhardt. I added my journal entry to the hundreds of entries already written in the journals that sit on top of the counter..many success stories that I will hopefully join. I have made it through the night but I will not dicount the salad until I make it through the rest of the day! If nothing happens, it was a good salad with a good friend :)

Happy Easter!
Ryan and I decided to be very religious today and instead of church, we went to a photography exhibit at the Santa Monica Pier! We thought we should take advantage of one of our last baby free days and enjoy time with just the two of us! After a long morning walk with our friends Nicole, Paul, baby Simone and Coco, Ryan and I felt like a good old Hot Dog on a Stick and a thirst quenching lemonade. We drove up to the pier, ate at the very first Hot Dog on a Stick location and then went to see the exhibit Ashes & Snow. Ryan had the newer cherry lemonade and I went old school and got the regular flavor. We both thought ours was better which was good since neither of us wanted to share it...we had been thinking about drinking those lemonades since early in the morning! The exhibit was very interesting but super artsy. Ryan and I enjoyed it but I think we went through it a little faster than someone who is very into photography, shadows, lines and any other words you would use to describe photos! On our way back to the car, we sat on a grass lawn and watched all the interesting people on the board walk and enjoyed the sunny day. I wish I could have caught a lot of them on film but they are there and gone in a second. Anyway, we've had a great day and thought we would share some pictures with you. Happy Easter!

37 Weeks Pregnant
So, I am 37 weeks and counting. Here I am in all my glory, feeling oh so attractive and skinny :) We had our 37 week appt today and all looks like it's moving in the right direction...towards a baby that is. The doctor says the baby is about 7 lbs now and ready to go. Ryan and I are trying to get things done around the house so we will be ready when the time comes. We will be working on our front and back yard this weekend! Kai and Luna don't like to miss out on any picture so they have joined me for these two.

Kai and Luna
The Nursery
So, we are 3 weeks out from our due date and things are all ready. The room is furnished, the car seat is in Ryan's car and now all we have to do is wait, wait and wait some more. We have picked out bedding for both a girl and boy so when we know what this little one is, we will order it. As you can see from the pictures, the room is not terribly exciting but ready to welcome Baby Meinhardt with open arms. We will update again when something exciting happens!
